The Challenge
A sloped backyard was causing soil erosion and limiting usable outdoor space. The property needed structural retention and aesthetic improvement to create a functional, multi-level garden.
Our Solution
We constructed a tiered natural stone retaining wall system that created two level garden beds and a flat patio area. Integrated LED landscape lighting highlights the stone texture at night, while native perennial plantings add color and low-maintenance greenery throughout the seasons.
The Results
The tiered retaining wall system reclaimed over 300 square feet of previously unusable sloped yard, giving the family a flat patio and two distinct garden levels. The integrated LED lighting creates a striking visual at night, and the native perennial plantings provide color from spring through fall with minimal maintenance. The project passed all municipal inspections on the first review, and the homeowner has since used the new patio as their primary outdoor entertaining space.
