Our top-notch outdoor fireplace services can help you create a welcoming and cozy ambiance in your outdoor living area, adding a touch of charm and warmth to your property and increasing its overall value through enhanced aesthetic appeal.

Overview

An outdoor fireplace extends your backyard season well into the cool Ontario autumn evenings and makes your outdoor living space the gathering spot for family and friends. At Pedra Landscaping, we design and construct custom outdoor fireplaces using natural stone, brick, and manufactured stone veneer that complement your home's architecture and your patio surroundings. Every fireplace we build is engineered with a proper firebox, chimney draw, and non-combustible materials to ensure safe, efficient performance and full compliance with local fire codes in your GTA municipality.

From classic stacked-stone fireplaces in Markham to sleek modern linear fire features in Vaughan, we tailor each project to your style and space. Our fireplaces can be wood-burning or gas-fuelled, with gas options providing the convenience of instant ignition and adjustable flame without the need for firewood storage. We integrate the fireplace into your broader outdoor design -- connecting it to patios, seating walls, and entertainment areas so it feels like a natural centrepiece rather than an afterthought. Whether you want a grand focal-point fireplace or a compact fire feature tucked into a cozy corner, Pedra Landscaping delivers craftsmanship and warmth that you will enjoy for years to come.

Our masons apply your chosen stone, brick, or veneer finish to the fireplace structure, including the mantel, hearth, and chimney cap.

04

Testing & Handover

We perform a full burn test, check draw and ventilation, verify gas connections if applicable, clean the site, and review safe operation and care with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Requirements vary by municipality. Many GTA cities require a permit for a permanent outdoor fireplace with a chimney, especially if it involves gas connections. Open-air fire pits may have different rules. We research your specific municipal requirements and handle permit applications as part of our service.

Wood-burning fireplaces offer the traditional crackling fire experience and do not require a gas line, but they need firewood storage and produce smoke. Gas fireplaces provide instant ignition, adjustable flame, and no smoke or ash cleanup. Many of our GTA clients choose gas for convenience, especially in neighbourhoods with close-proximity homes.

Yes. A properly constructed outdoor fireplace is designed to handle all weather conditions. The stone and firebox materials we use are rated for Ontario's freeze-thaw cycles. Gas fireplaces can be used year-round with no special preparation. Wood-burning fireplaces should have the chimney cap checked before heavy winter use.

Setback requirements vary by municipality, but a common guideline is a minimum of 3 metres (10 feet) from any combustible structure. We verify the exact requirements for your property during the design phase and position the fireplace for both safety compliance and optimal enjoyment of your outdoor space.
